ROCKFORD (WREX) — Another vendor at Rockford City Market is about to open its own restaurant.
Velvet Robot Coffee Lab is opening a cafe at the Indoor City Market at 116 N. Madison St. Customers can order coffee, breakfast and lunch. Justin Carner of Velvet Robot Coffee Lab says the business hopes to open in March.
"The heart behind it all is just having an inclusive space that anybody can come to in a town that's full of all different kinds of awesome people," said Carner. "We just want to be a space that welcomes all people and we just think we're going to be a real nice little niche in Rockford and yeah, we're excited to open."
This is the fourth business at the indoor market that came from the outdoor market. Crust & Crumbles, Ronit's Kitchen and Quixotic Bakery each have a restaurant after serving as a vendor.
